Haus Lofer is a family friendly, 4 bedroom, traditional chalet which sleeps up to 12 people. The chalet has a large garden at the front with space for children to play, while to the rear is a terraced dining area and garden extending to the river Loferbach with views over fields and mountains. The property is fenced on all sides for privacy and safety. The chalet is a 10 min walk from the picturesque village of Lofer with its cafes, restaurants and shops.
Haus Lofer is an ideal location for both Summer and Winter holidays. Winter in the Alps means time in the snow. Rated as one of most family friendly Austrian ski resorts, Lofer offers skiing, snowboarding, alpine touring, cross country skiing, winter hiking and snow kiting. The Ski-Circus, Austria’s largest ski area which links the four regions of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, is also accessible within 25 mins drive of the chalet.
Lofer also offers a full range of Alpine summer activities from wild swimming, climbing, walking, mountain biking, canyoning, paddle boarding and white water rafting.
Haus Lofer is a traditional chalet offering spacious accommodation and all the comforts of home. The four bedrooms sleep up to 12 people with large balconies off two of the main bedrooms with views across the river and mountains. The two bathrooms were completely refurbished in 2017 and towels and basic toiletries are provided.
There is plenty of entertaining space with a fully equipped kitchen and large, separate dining room. The double-aspect living room looks out onto the gardens and is equipped with TV, CD and DVD players together with a selection of books, DVDs, toys and games for all the family. There is a utility room with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board for guests to use.
The enclosed front garden provides plenty of space for relaxing outdoors with garden furniture and a BBQ. The rear garden, with its outside fireplace and dining space backs on to the River Loferbach. There is space to park up to 5 cars.
With fantastic natural light from a large window looking out over the front garden and with patio doors to the rear garden. 2 large comfortable sofas and 2 further large armchairs with a plasma TV, CD and DVD players with lots of film DVDs for both adults and children.

Located close to the center of town there is the Steinbergbad is a large outdoor swimming pool with a waterslide, diving platforms, family area, children’s pool and of course, a sandpit and playground. There’s also table tennis, a pool table and a beach volleyball court.
The Loferbach river is diverted to run alongside the pool and you can hire a wide tire ring and drift downstream in the cold mountain water!
Within a short drive there are also natural lakes to swim in and mountain rivers in which to paddle or to build dams. Make sure you take your own BBQ coals, fire lighters and cooking implements as there are numerous BBQ pits on which you can test your outdoor cooking skills!
The stunningly beautiful gorge at Vorderkaser is 400m long and 80m deep. It is possible to make your way along the entire length via a wooden walkway in the depths of the gorge just above the raging river.
There are two adventure companies in the Lofer area offering an extensive range of activities for the more adventurous of you, including White Water Rafting, Canyoning, Kayaking and Paragliding. There is also one of the fastest and longest white knuckle zip wire rides in the world nearby in Leogang where you can fly through the mountains reaching speeds of 130km/h at a height of 140 meters.
Skiing – The village ski lift is just a 15 minute walk or a 2 minute drive from the chalet and then it’s a short ride up on the modern 8-person gondola lift to the mountain restaurants and slopes where two cable cars, one 8-seater, one 6-seater and one 4-seater chairlift, 4 T-bar lifts and one conveyor belt give access to 46km of pisted slopes, 32 km blue, 12 red, 2 black. The ski resort has regularly been awarded Austria’s highest grades in terms of family friendliness.

It is easy to get around Lofer either on foot or by car. There is also a picturesque river walk into the village at the back of the athletic track.
